Nabil Ahmed
Dr. Nabil Ahmed is an Egyptian scholar and a theater artist, playwright, and director. He has written and directed over 30 plays performed in more than 20 countries and in the United Nations. His work includes reviving Egypt's traditional Aragoz puppetry art and registering it in UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
His exhibitions of Egyptian traditional puppets are showcased in museums worldwide, including a permanent corner at the Center for Puppetry Arts here in Atlanta.
Nabil's artistic and academic interests intersect in his exploration of Arabic poetry, Arabic theater, and Egyptian folklore, with a focus on the social and political dimensions of these cultural forms.
